Chat GPT Is No Match for Professional Copywriters: Here’s Why Human Creativity Is Still Essential for Quality Content

Since ChatGPT hit the scene, it’s tempting to outsource all your copywriting tasks to an AI powered writing assistant. Well, why not? After all, why pay a real person when you could access a sophisticated AI copywriting tool at the touch of your fingertips? But as someone with years of experience providing quality and affordable copywriting services for marketers, SMEs and entrepreneurs, I’m sorry to tell you, despite all its bells and whistles, nothing beats having an experienced human at the helm for persuasive copywriting.

Ok, ok, but you’re biased, I hear you say. You’re a copywriter, of course you’re going to say that as you’ll be out of a job. But I am saying this BECAUSE I am a copywriter, and I know the work that goes into creating great copy and persuasive writing. Also, please don’t think I am against using an AI writing assistant; I’m not! I use it for research and ideas, and it has even helped me in some aspects of writing this article (quite ironic, really!), but let me explain further…..

The power of personality in your copy

Do you want generic and impersonal copy? No, you want brand messaging that stands out and connects with your audience on a deeper level. This is what copywriters do. While Chat GPT may be able to generate text, it lacks the nuance and creativity that skilled copywriters can bring to the table.

I admit, when I first tried an AI writing tool, it blew my mind! Wow, I might as well pack up my laptop and find another career. But after a while, despite its fantastic abilities, as a copywriter, I could see where issues can arise when becoming too reliant on it.

Good copywriting ensures your voice and vision are fully realised in a truly unique and engaging way. Without sounding all Marvel on you and putting on my copywriting superhero cape(!), copywriters have the power to capture the essence of your brand, craft captivating headlines, and weave stories that resonate with your customers. Plus, you have the added benefit of collaborating and communicating with us, which is vital to any writing project. So whether you need to write articles, a blog post, landing pages, web pages, sales letters, product descriptions, product pages, or marketing copy – a successful copywriter is your best bet.

How does great copywriting engage and persuade readers?

Copywriters know the power of copy to engage and persuade readers. With just a few well-chosen words, we can capture someone’s attention, shift their perspective, and, ultimately, convince them to take action. Buy that brand, use that service – how cool is that? But what exactly makes our copy so effective? It’s all about tapping into emotions and desires, and using language that resonates with your audience. Whether we’re writing a call-to-action, blog post or marketing messages, the key is connecting with your readers personally. So, tell me, honestly, can ChatGPT do that?

How do copywriters create content that stands out from generic AI-generated text

Picture this: you’re scrolling through an online store, looking for the perfect outfit. Suddenly, a chatbot pops up and starts bombarding you with generic text. “Hello, how may I assist you? Would you like to see our top sellers? Here are some recommended products.” Snooze. Boring! Now imagine the same scenario, but this time you’re greeted with witty, engaging, and personalised copy. “Hey there fashionista! Looking for the latest and greatest styles? Let me show you our must-have pieces that will turn heads all season long.” That’s the power of great copywriting. It not only catches your attention, but it makes you feel heard and understood. Chatbots may be efficient, but they lack the human touch that copywriters can provide. The secret to standing out? Injecting personality, creativity, and empathy into your writing. So next time you’re crafting marketing content, think about using a copywriter and not dull, generic chat.

What are the benefits of personalised content writing crafted by a professional copywriter?

If you want to take your content to the next level, AI writing tools can help to a certain point. Yes, they can give you ideas and kick-start the creative process, but a copywriter is your go-to for personalised, well-written content.

Not only does personalised content increase engagement with your readers, but it also showcases your brand’s unique voice and helps to establish a strong connection with your audience. Professional copywriters have the skills and expertise to create content tailored specifically to your target audience, ensuring they feel heard and understood. Additionally, high-quality and personalised content has been shown to improve your presence in search engines, meaning that your content will rank higher and be more easily discoverable by potential customers. So, even if you go the generic ChatGPT copy route, you cannot rest on your laurels; you still need to inject your brand’s unique tone, style, humour and personality into it!

How can an experienced copywriter help you reach your desired audience?

Struggling to connect with your target audience? Not sure what the best words to use or the language that makes them stop and take notice? ChatGPT may be great at writing, but can it write in a way that actually engages? This is where an experienced copywriter comes into their own. We know how to craft words that resonate with your audience and evoke emotions that will drive action. We know how to best use language and storytelling to help your business stand out and build a loyal following.

What about search engines – this is vital for your content marketing.

Yes, what about your search engine optimisation – can AI writing tools help with SEO writing? Copywriters understand how algorithms work and know what kind of text works best with SEO – ensuring all your written content meets the highest standards. As experts, copywriters know how to do effective keyword research and use relevant keywords that are effective in helping your content rank higher in search engine results pages (SERPs). They’ll also be able to create compelling titles and meta descriptions which will speak directly to potential customers, enticing them to click through. With SEO such an essential part of your marketing strategy, can an AI tool write how a copywriter writes when it comes to your search engine optimisation?

Can you trust an AI tool to give you the correct information?

An AI powered writing assistant can be great when it comes to getting ideas and topics, but they often lack accuracy. They often generate generic copy that’s full of errors and doesn’t make sense in the context of your business or brand. Additionally, AI tools aren’t able to research thoroughly – meaning their data might not be up-to-date or accurate. Copywriters are trained to research thoroughly and have access to quality resources that can provide the most reliable information.

When it comes to content writing, you need more than a generic output from an AI tool – you need personalised copy crafted by an experienced professional who can bring your story alive in words.

Grammar is also a big factor to consider

We can all agree that AI tools have come a long way in terms of their ability to comprehend language, but they still struggle with grammatical accuracy. For good copywriting, all grammar mistakes must be addressed. This is all part of the writing process. While AI-powered natural language processing (NLP) technologies can detect and identify words, phrases, and concepts in speech or text, they lack an understanding of the grammar that binds words together into meaningful sentences. This can lead to errors or confusion when interpreting sentences, making it difficult for AI tools to accurately convert language into actionable insights. Copywriters will help improve the accuracy of the output generated by the AI system as we have a far better understanding of the nuances of grammar.

Check out some copywriter portfolios

Not convinced and still want to delete that copywriting contact from your phone? Well, before you do, look at their portfolio and check out examples of what they’ve written. Could you write compelling content using AI that draws people in, persuasive email campaigns, ad campaigns with skyrocketing conversion rates, and engaging blogs that keep readers and new customers coming back for more? Be honest, is your copy as good as theirs – even with your AI writing tools?

Don’t get me wrong, ChatGPT and AI writing tools can be amazing….

As I mentioned before, I’m not against AI writing tools at all, and as a freelancer, they have helped me write faster – but I have not let them take over as I know my clients won’t get the copy they want if I do that. I use them for ideas if I have writer’s block or to give me an alternative writing perspective. However, I never entirely rely on it. Everything needs checking for accuracy and grammar, key information, the right tone and style for the right audience, the best words and that the relevant content is unique.

Artificial Intelligence can provide excellent starting points, but nothing beats a human touch when conveying the particular story behind your brand. For example, when crafting web copy or blog posts, AI can’t truly capture a brand’s unique personality and message. This can only be achieved through interviews, understanding the nuances of your language, and creating content that speaks for itself – just as you would say it. Through research, wordplay, and a little bit of hard work, the best copywriters will ensure your message says what it should to make a lasting impact.

If you’re looking for success through quality copy that captures attention, hiring a professional copywriter is the best choice; we’ll work with you every step to ensure that everything comes together perfectly. A skilled copywriter can guide you in the writing process and bring that story to life – there’s no replacement for their expertise and creativity.

Quality content crafted by an expert that speaks directly to their desired audience – isn’t that what everyone wants? Can Chat GPT really do that?
